What would Traveling be without shopping?


We visit the open area street markets and the many stores in buildings just north of the Hoan Kiem Lake and just opposite the water puppet theater. Here are regular stores

You can buy just about anything, but it takes a lot of walking. Here are the outdoor stalls.

The Hang Dieu Street (1925), typical of the housing areas under the French.

The Long Bien Bridge (1925), railroad bridge crossing the the Hong (Red) River.

Sinh Tu Street in 1890. Today, it is either renamed or does not exist.

The Medical and Pharmaceutical College in 1920. Looks much the same today.
