Lester & Danuta Visit to Bangkok & Vietnam

Vietnam, DaNang to HoiAn

We are now in the Marble Moutain area, and here in one of the many marble sculpture factories.

Another view in the factory. Note the large pieces of marble.

At the top of one of the Marble Mountains is this huge cave (Tang Chan Cavern) made into a shrine. Danuta is shown standing at the entrace by a statue.

Looking down from the top of the mountain at the terrain below. It was quite an effort to climb the steps, both up and down. Another Marble Mountain in rear, much like the one we were on.

Street scene in Hoi An, showing not much modernization in this ancient town.

A market area in Hai An, much like those elsewhere in Vietnam.

Lester standing on the banks of a swollen Thu Bon River, several days after the typhoon ran through this area.

Really old dwellings with shops in front with Danuta.

Ducks here are teathered and waiting to be sold for dinners.

Inside of a clothing factory. They measure, you select material and they have it made by the next day.

Danuta is always happy looking at all the different items available.

So, only the second time it rained this trip, but here is a street view with the "trishaw" like those we rode.

And here we are, all bundled up against the cold and rain.

Danuta standing in front of a display at the Pagoda Fu-Kien.

The Japanese Covered Bridge, built in the 17th Century to connect the Japanese part of the city with the other Chinese side. There is a shrine inside.

An ancient street scene, with old homes.
